Gli Starsailor sono un gruppo musicale britannico proveniente da Chorley in Inghilterra. Sono di genere rock alternativo britpop. Si sono formati nel 2000. I componenti sono: Ben Byrne, James Stelfox, James Walsh e Barry Westhead. Il loro nome è derivato da uno degli album più famosi di Tim Buckley, il padre di Jeff morto tanto tempo fa. La band ha miscelato certe sonorità con il soun
d britannico con influenze che vanno dai Beatles ai Coldplay, Blur e tutto il filone britpop. L’album “Love is here” è stato pubblicato nel 2001, seguito da “Silence is easy” con le famose canzoni: “Four to the floor” col celebre ritornello: “Four to the floor I was sure, never seeing clear I could have it all, whenever you are near. Four to the floor I was sure that she would be my girl We’d rent a little world we’d have a little girl”, e “Fidelity” col ritornello: “This is my head, you’re in my world And there’s no one but you girl, This is my head you’re in my world And there’s no one but you girl”. Il 23 maggio 2014 hanno annunciato la loro reunion e ha iniziato ad esibirsi in tutto il mondo. A settembre del 2015 gli Starsailor hanno fatto una raccolta intitolata: “Good souls: The Greatest hits”. “Way to fall” è la canzone di chiusura durante i titoli di coda del videogioco Metal Gear Solid 3. Nel 2005 pubblicarono “On the outside”. Nel 2009 pubblicarono: “All the plans”. Nel 2017 pubblicarono “All this life” e l’ultimo album degli Starsailor è: “Where the wild Things Grow”.
